Double Stage Water Ring Vacuum Pumps & Compressors
HTC Liquid ring gas pumps are rotary displacement pumps. A circulating auxiliary fluid normally water, absorbs the driving power supplied to the impellers and transmits it to the gas to be compressed. Shaft and Impellers are the only moving components. They do not have sliding contact with fixed pump components. The gaps which exists are filled with the auxiliary fluid. No lubricants can get into the pumping chamber and the gas to be pumped is not contaminated. In design, the pumps is adopted to the intended application.
The impeller is mounted eccentrically relative to the axis of the casing. The liquid ring consisting of the auxiliary fluid circulates concentrically with the axis of the casing. Because of this arrangement fluid leaves an re-enters the impeller cells in the manner of piston. In the region of the emerging liquid ring, the gas is aspired via the suction slot which communicates with the pump suction connection, is compressed in the region of the ring as it enters, and is ejected after compression via the pressure slot which communicates with the pump pressure connection.
The shape of the casing of this design is such that during one revolution of the impeller, the liquid ring can be removed from and returned to the cells twice so that gas is twice supplied to cellular spaces.
The temperature of water to be maintained at minimum 30 o C level to have the optimum efficiency of water ring vacuum pump. A slight variation may be observed if the inlet temperature goes above the prescribed temperature. Cooling water is recomemded to obtain maximum efficiency of water ring vacuum pump.
